Too numerous girls are married prior to the age of 18. All the time, they have been forced into an alliance they’ve perhaps not selected. Dropping away from college or physical physical violence at home are of this challenges and negative effects they face. Terre des hommes works in Jordan and Lebanon to protect young refugee girls from very early wedding and support those already hitched.
A social worker from the University of Bedfordshire in the United-Kingdom, to conduct a three-year research focusing on girls who are married before 18 to better tackle the issue of early marriage among refugee girls, we have partnered with Dr Aisha Hutchinson. The research seeks to better realize the experience and process these girls undergo while staying in refugee communities. To take action, Dr Aisha Hutchinson operates interviews while focusing groups with girls, males, parents and leaders that are religious in both Jordan and Lebanon.
